Winners Chapel International Nairobi Likoni road Nairobi, Kenya
We keep this notice short on purpose. It follows the spirit of Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019: collect less than we could, say why we have something, and let you ask for a copy or a deletion. It is a website notice for the church office to keep current. It is not a substitute for legal advice.
What you can do without an account
Sermons, events, ministries, and this page are public. Reading them does not require your name. The contact form, a prayer request, and an event reply ask only for what the office needs in order to answer you.
- A message to the office includes your name, email address, a subject, and the message.
- A prayer request includes your name, email address, and the request. Requests are private. They are not published on the website. Administrators on the prayer team can read them. If you are signed in, the request is also linked to your account so you can see it under Account.
- Telling us you plan to attend an event includes your name, email address, and, if you add them, a phone number and a short note.
Google sign-in and roles
Sign-in is with Google. We receive your name and your verified email address from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password. A first sign-in creates a member account. You can later add a phone number, service group, WSF district, gender, and date of birth. Those stay empty until you save them, and the rest of the site stays open while they are missing. The church can later mark an account as an administrator or a superadmin. A backup password is optional and is stored only as a hash.
- A member can keep a profile and see prayer requests tied to their own sign-in.
- An administrator can publish sermons, events, and announcements, read messages and prayer requests, and edit site settings, including the welcome popup.
- A superadmin can also change roles. Each role change is written to an audit record: who made the change, whose role changed, the old role, the new role, the time, and the IP address and browser string of that change.
The signed-in session is an HTTP-only cookie in your browser. It lasts up to twelve hours. We store your name, email address, role, and a session version on our server, and the profile details above once you save them. The date of birth is used for the birthday month. It is not published. The session version lets us end older sign-ins when a role changes. A separate cookie on your device remembers only that a backup password has been used there. It does not contain your email or password. Details of the cookies are on the cookie policy.
Information collected automatically
The site uses your IP address briefly to slow repeated sign-in attempts and form submissions, and it stores an IP address on the role-change audit record described above. We do not run advertising cookies or analytics cookies. Optional preferences, such as remembering that you closed the welcome notice, are stored on your device only if you accept them.
If you choose Accept all, the browser also sends a page-view note when you open a public page. The note includes the page address, the website that linked you here (the host name only), campaign tags in the link, a general device and browser type, and the country and city our host already attaches to the connection. We do not store your IP address. A code that changes every day stands in for a visitor, so the count cannot follow you into the next day. A random value kept in this tab's session storage, not in a cookie, lets us tell one visit from the next and see how long a page stayed open. It is cleared when you close the tab. We skip the note when you reject optional storage, when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, and when an administrator is signed in. The notes are kept for 90 days and then deleted. Only a superadmin can see the totals. We do not use a third-party analytics script.
Why we keep it, and who sees it
We use this information to answer you, to pray with you, to welcome you to a gathering, to run the member area, and to protect the site. Church administrators see contact messages and prayer requests. You see your own linked prayers when you are signed in. We do not sell personal information, and we do not pass it to advertisers.
Google processes the sign-in itself under Google's own terms. After that, the church office holds the account, messages, and prayer requests so it can respond. We do not claim a particular data-centre country beyond what the church's host provides.
How long, and your choices
Messages and prayer requests stay while the office still needs them to respond. Administrators can delete them from the site. Role-change audit records are kept as a record of who changed access. You may email info@winnerschapelnairobi.ke to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete a message or a prayer request. You can also reject optional storage on this device. Most of the public site works without an account.
You can delete your member account while you are signed in. We then remove the name, email, backup password, phone number, service group, WSF district, gender, and date of birth from that account and sign you out. The account row stays only so a role-change record still has a person to point at, and the email on that record is replaced. You may use Google later to open a new member account. That account does not receive the old profile, role, or history, and it gets its own welcome note. Gifts and shop payments remain in the church records without your email. A phone number used to pay by M-Pesa stays on that payment.
If you believe your information has been handled wrongly, you can contact the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya.
Children
Children's ministry happens in person, with details confirmed at the welcome desk. This website does not ask a child to create an account. A parent or guardian may write to us about their family. Please do not send a child's full story through a public device you do not control.
Changes
The church office can update this page. The date at the top changes when the notice changes. Questions about this page go to info@winnerschapelnairobi.ke.
